ABOUT US
We aim to provide thoughtful Islamic education that nurtures intellectual depth, spiritual reflection, and meaningful engagement with contemporary issues.
  • Where We Began
Wujud Initiative began as a ground-up effort in 2015 at the National University of Singapore, then known as Voyage of Knowledge. Supported by the NUS Muslim Society, it was a response to a growing hunger among students for intellectually rich Islamic discourse. Through a series of small, intimate classes, we explored the depth and diversity of Islamic thought — drawing inspiration from our scholarly heritage to cultivate critical, reflective engagement with the faith.
  • How We Grew
What started within the campus community quickly resonated beyond it. Over the years, we welcomed a broader audience — individuals seeking to reconnect with Islam not just as a set of rituals, but as a deeply intellectual and ethical tradition. We expanded our programming to include public lectures, seminars, and thematic series, covering subjects from Islamic intellectual history and ethics to theology, Sufism, and contemporary Muslim thought.
  • Where We Are Today
Today, Wujud Initiative continues to provide thoughtful Islamic education for all who seek it — grounded in tradition, relevant to our time. We offer a growing catalogue of classes, reflections, and events that bring together diverse voices and perspectives. As a non-profit, we remain rooted in our mission to foster understanding and awareness, relying on the support of our community to keep this journey alive.
